Australia – Victoria Golf Club
(Ranking - #94 World and #9 Australia)
Victoria Golf Club, home course of Peter Thomson and Geoff Ogilvy, is always ranked a top course in Australia but often is underrated and in the shadows of clubs nearby. Located in the Melbourne "Sandbelt", the course opened in 1927.
Victoria is starting to receive more and more recognition with hosting the Australian Masters in 2012 where Ian Poulter claimed victory. This is where the first hole at Victoria became one of most well known holes in Australian golf. This awkward par 4 starting hole is only 256 yards long with many bunkers near the green. The length acts more as a par 3 for pros but will offer plenty of challenge for the average golfer.
Luke Donald said. "I probably put this in my top 10 courses, architecturally and from a design standpoint."
