West Lancs, founded in 1873, is one of the ten oldest clubs in England and it boasts a course that is among the most under-rated in the British Isles. It’s a wonderful lay-out and as a bonus it also offers panoramic views of the Mersey Estuary, Anglesey and the distant Welsh Hills. West Lancs is a final qualifying course for the Open and co-hosted the Amateur Championship in 2009 with Formby, and is ranked as one of UK’s top 100 golf courses.
