Finca Cortesin Golf on the Costa del Sol Golf opened in October 2006. It is located in the district of Casares, halfway between Marbella and Sotogrande on the Costa del Sol, Spain.
Its privileged location offers views over the Mediterranean and the African coastline from every angle of the golf course.
Finca Cortesin Golf was designed by Cabell Robinson and unlike most of the existing golf courses in the Costa del Sol Golf area, houses do not interfere with the game. This also means that there is a lot of room for the holes which are not cramped by buildings, so the player can enjoy his golf in a natural environment.
The length of the golf course reaches nearly 7655 yards from the back tees, becoming one of the longest courses in Europe, with a total par of 72. There are five par 3’s, eight par 4’s & five par 5’s. The main features are the length of the course and the great variety of its natural vegetation which includes olive trees and corks.
The 18 holes are very unique since every hole is completely different to the others which makes playing very enjoyable. Technically speaking, it is important to emphasize the following features: the Bermuda grass fairways are very wide (up to 55 yards); the bunkers are beautifully shaped and filled with white marble sand. Tee boxes are very high quality (every hole has several tee platforms so the player always finds them in perfect shape).
Without doubt, the greens are one of Finca Cortesin Golf’s jewels; they all have slight brakes and have the quality to be extremely fast.
